Guidelines for Structure Proposals! sdsagenda2008@gmail.com

May 23, 2008 at 6:48 pm (Uncategorized)

Please fill out this form to make structure proposals for the National Convention. Submit proposals or questions to sdsagenda2008@gmail.com! Your proposal should be as short and simple as possible. Use no jargon or slang or technical language! Write with everyday speech! Explain what you would add or subtract to our structure in the simplest, most straightforward way possible.

Make your structure simple and PRACTICAL. We need structures that we can fill with people immediately, structures that can start accomplishing work right away.

Proposals submitted before the June 15th deadline will enter into the “collaboration” period, where the Agenda group will help proposal authors edit and clarify their proposals to mesh well with the convention process. We will also create space for authors with similar proposals to collaborate and combine proposals, or make sure they are very different from one another.

Check out the Working Group Visibility Project to get a sense of where our National Structure is at right now: www. newsds.org/visibility

What does SDS need on a national level? (Please answer in short short bullet point or list form – no sentences!)

What structure(s) are you proposing to accomplish some of those needs? Describe your structure and the national needs it will fulfill.

Who will be on it? How will they be selected? When will it meet? How will it make decisions?

(600 words max)

How would that structure(s) relate to what already exists? How would it compliment or replace current National Working Groups, Conventions, or other parts of our national structure? (400 words max)

How will it be implimented? Who will be responsible for initiating it at the National Convention and starting it up afterwards?  When will it start functioning, and how? (No max! Spill your guts and flesh it out!)

You can submit your proposal online!
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=vMO8jIhYp4_2facwX3yb1WlQ_3d_3d

Submit completed proposals before JUNE 15th to sdsagenda2008@gmail.com!
