Campaign Proposals!!!

This is just a summary of the proposals we’ve received as of Thursday, June 26! Soon we will release a report with the full proposals!

1. SDS Promotion Tour + Training for Trainers proposal – by Legba Carrefour, legba.carrefour@gmail.com, DC-SDS

  • For regional tours to promote SDS and start new chapters, culminating in a training for trainers.

2. Student Power for Accessible Education – by Chloe Briedé, zoetalysse@gmail.com, GMU SDS + 5 other SDSers from different chapters

  • A student power and accessible education campaign to target student debt.

3. Protest McCain! – by Chapin Gray, chapinrose@gmail.com, and Tom Keenan, SDS-Tuscaloosa, AL

  • A campaign to protest McCain..and rhyme.

4. Don’t Just Vote: Get Active – by ACTIVATE, sds@activategr.org, Grand Rapids, MI

  • A campaign encouraging action beyond the electoral system.

5. National Week of Action and Campus Conversation on Social Priorities – by Prerna Nadathur, pnadathur@uchicago.edu, Chicago SDS and affiliated chapters

  • A campaign based around community conversations and creating a social conciousness.

6. Stop Prisons, Stop Deportation - by Alex Lotorto, al233881@muhlenberg.edu, and Muhlenberg College members of SDS

  • A campaign targetting local prison profiteers on college campuses, like Sodexho.

7. Resolution on Housing Crisis - by Nathan Coe, NJCOE@fortlewis.edu, Animas SDS (Ft. Lewis College, Durango, Colorado) and Brian Leon, bleon8st@umw.edu, University of Mary Washington SDS

  • An endorsement of a union’s housing crisis statement.

8. DNC Actions and Tent State Music Festival - by Jojo Pease, jojo@denversds.org ,and Josh Kappel, Denver SDS

9. Proposal for Chapters to Plug into Tent State University at the Democratic National Convention – by Andrea Mueller, andrea.m.mueller@gmail.com, and Yael Bromberg (on behalf on Rutgers TSU/SDS) **to be linked to Denver SDS proposal on DNC**

  • A youth music festival and community space around the DNC

10. STOP I-69: Attacking Capitalism At Its Roots – by Guy Dobyns, gdobyns@lclark.edu, and Mary Sackley, marysackley@gmail.com, Lewis and Clark SDS/Little Beirut SDS – Portland, OR

  • A campaign targetting the I-69 “NAFTA Superhighway”

11. Proposal for the Hundred Days Campaign – by Dave Shukla, st.coltrane@gmail.com, UCLA SDS, Raychel Haut, NYC SDS and Atlee McFellin, New School SDS

  • A campaign to put pressure on the new Presidential administration in their first 100 days.
